Got my trunks packed for the London fair then rose at 4 am the next morning to get on a 6 am flight to the west coast, where I arrived about 9:30 am. Rented a car and drove to the house of an old customer and friend who was considering selling his collection. Looked at the collection all day. Surface Tension by Mike Mullin

    Mon, 23 Apr 2018 09:00:00 Permalink
He races bikes and is doing very well at it.  That means he practices a lot and he has several routes he takes.  He sure never expected to run into a bunch of trucks on the back road he was on.  What's worse is he saw something they didn't want him to.  He's hurt, left for dead, but survives.  That's not the end of them trying to murder him...Tanglewood and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published May 8th.What's most terrifying about this story is that the terrorists are home grown.  Read More

As antiquarian booksellers we all know what the copyright of a title is. We know where to find it, how to interpret it and what it means. But do we know how it came into being? I would venture to guess that more than a few of us are in the dark about how copyright […] Read More

Four Book Fairs in Five Weeks - 14 March 2017

    Tue, 14 Mar 2017 08:31:33 Permalink
It’s been a busy month, but we’ve now returned from New York, and things should be back to normal by the end of the week. This year we decided to do both California book fairs and follow those up with the two New York satellite-shadow shows.  Gail and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results; we sold well into the low five figures at each of the first three book fairs and did very well in the fourth. For the first time in a long time, customers--to include average collectors--weren’t timid when it came to buying.  What did they buy?  Well, Read More
