    The Book That Changed Me (Radio 3, all week) started brilliantly on Monday with former Labour Home Secretary Alan Johnson talking about Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield in particular but, in general, about how books profoundly enriched his growing up. He lived with his mother and elder sister in a Paddington slum, his father had run off years earlier.
