The man murdered was a friend of theirs.  He was her husband's mentor and an important part of his life.  Even if it's not his case, they can't tell him to stay out of the case.  He will find the killer!

Severn House Publishers and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published August 1st.

This mystery is set in England and has every secret agency in the country involved.  Patrick and Ingrid work together as well as being husband and wife.  The National Crime Agency is what the victim headed and when he's killed inside his secure house, the big question was how did they get in?  His wife swears the doors were locked and security cameras were on.  But two men are dead and it was no accident.

As they look for answers they find out the security firm is a joke and the man who adjusted the security has done a runner.  When they find him dead, they begin to understand just what they are up against.  They have their suspicions about the killer.  A man with a grudge has just gotten out of jail.  He might be involved.  He's a very dangerous character.

This turned into a game of cat and mouse and the positions kept changing.  There's corruption everywhere, everyone has secrets and it takes a lot of work to get to the answers.  It's also dangerous the whole way there.

This one will keep you reading and wondering who's still going to be standing by the end of the story.  You won't be bored.
