Mordecai is going to visit friends.  He loves the village they live in as soon as he sights it.  It looks so peaceful and quiet.  He wasn't expecting to find murder...

Sourcebooks Landmark and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It is being published today.

Mordecai is an amateur sleuth and he can't resist looking into the girl's death.  As he asks questions here and there, he learns the village is not as sweet as it looked.  There's an undercurrent of evil there.

Soon, there are more deaths.  He and Boyce from Scotland Yard are working together but getting no answers.  When a third body is found, the Inspector is frustrated and upset both.  There doesn't seem to be a killer but they know it's someone local.

Mordecai has more than one suspect in mind and as each is eliminated, he finally settles on one.  But how to prove it?

These mysteries are a lot like Agatha Christie stories and I enjoy them.  Watching Mordecai weed through the facts is just like watching Hercule Poirot solve his cases.  I enjoy this read a lot.  Give it a try.
