Henrietta is getting ready for a big dance being held by the city as a fundraiser.  She's using antiques from her shop, getting dresses ready to rent out for the night as costumes for the time period, and she even has some customers loaning furniture pieces they've purchased from her in the past.  The Mayor is worried about the turnout but she isn't.

Fairfield Publishing and the author shared this book with me for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can get a copy now.

When she hears the lighthouse owner has committed suicide, she doesn't believe it.  He was restoring the lighthouse and planning on attending his daughter's wedding.  But the new cop on the job considers it a closed case  She pursues the case herself.

He had a bad finger and couldn't shoot himself with that hand.  He had too much to live for.  She finds out his daughter is the recipient of a $500,000 life insurance policy and that someone was trying to buy his land and building but he wouldn't sell.  Which one would motivate a killer?  Then they found another dead body at the lighthouse.  They don't know who she is...

As she keeps plugging along looking for clues, more damage is done.  She finally figures out who the killer is.  This is the detective's first lesson in solving a case...
