How could you not be taken with this big, tall, skinny, PURPLE monster?

The New York Review Children's collection and Edelweiss allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published May 12th.

This is a beginning chapter book for young readers.  There are lots of illustrations, not much text, and it's a silly but fun story.

Monster is looking for a new place to live.  He visits the city and decides he could stay there and play in the park with the children.  First thing he has to do is find a place to live.

He picks a long tall house and moves in.  He cleans it up.  Then one day he finds a boy on his doorstep.  He invites him to stay with him and now he won't be lonely anymore.

When the boy looks out the front window, he sees a girl monster jumping rope and runs to tell him.  But he's vacuuming and can't hear him...

This is a fantasy tale that is fun to read and ends happily ever after.  What more could you want?
