    Many years ago old friend Ken Karmiole showed me how he scouts online.

    Go to ABE

    Select a dealer

    Click the red “Search” button on the dealer’s site

    Select “highest price” on the search menu when the dealer’s inventory comes up

    Browse down

    I found this method particularly effective as a preliminary step for scouting a dealer’s open shop. You find a book on the dealer’s ABE site that interests you and, when you’re in the shop, you ask the dealer if that item is still in stock.
