About Us

Quaint Book Shop is an online shop with a select inventory of used, out-of-print and antiquarian books on a wide range of subjects. Specialties include American national, regional and local history, limited and first edition books of Kenneth Roberts, vintage young adult chapter books and children’s illustrated books, particularly Little Golden Book first editions.

We provide complete descriptions of each book and pictures of many. We do not use stock images; the images are of the actual book. If you have any questions about any book listed, require further information on a book’s state or condition or would like additional photographs, feel free to contact us.

All hardbacks with dust jackets valued at $20 or higher have their jackets protected by a clear polyester archival cover. Little Golden Books are put into a custom-sized protective sleeve.

Store Hours

    Terms of Sale

PAYMENT Payment by credit card (through IOBA or PayPal), check or money order in U.S. funds. Payments provided by check or money order must be made out to “Quaint Book Shop” for the exact amount and will be held for 14 days to give your payment time to reach us. (Checks made out for the wrong amount will be returned and the order cancelled.) For international orders, bank transfers can be arranged, although they incur a $15.00 fee from the bank that must be added to the cost of the book and shipping. SALES TAX A 7% sales tax is charged only for books delivered in the state of Ohio. SHIPPING - DOMESTIC Shipping within the United States is available through USPS Media Mail or Priority Mail or UPS. The standard shipping charges are based on standard books, so oversized or heavy books and book sets will require additional postage. If that is the case, you will be contacted to approve any additional charge to cover the extra shipping. SHIPPING - INTERNATIONAL International orders are normally shipped in a USPS Priority Mail International® Flat-Rate envelope or box; inquire about the cost of shipping to your country if you live outside the United States since the cost varies widely, depending upon the size and weight of the package and the country to which it is being delivered. Customs charges are the responsibility of the buyer. All shipments to destinations outside the U.S. will bear the required customs label, be marked “merchandise,” and show the book price(s) as the declared value(s). RETURNS Our goal is to serve you by providing you with the book you want, so we want you to be satisfied with the book. If there is any problem with your order, please contact us and we will do all we can to make it right. If you find it necessary to return the book you received, you may do so within 14 days from the date of sale. Please notify us within five days of receipt so we can be expecting its return. Include the paperwork that accompanied the book (which includes the order number) and indicate your reason for the return. If the book is returned in the same condition in which it was sent, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price. The buyer normally pays for return shipping. However, if you are not satisfied with your purchase due to an error in our description or because you feel the book is “not as described,” we will happily cover the full cost of the return.
