Leather binding in very good condition except for a 1/4" cut to the top of the spine; Plane binding in keeping with early Friends publications, though new end papers appear to be more recent; Repaired with new end papers, original rear paste-down retained; Pages show modest age toning; a couple pages with light stain to lower corner; One leaf has a 3/4" tear which runs into text between lines; A couple pages, 110/111 with a couple stains in the text; Last 14 pages have small stain at the fore-edge.
Bronner & Fraser 96B; "copyright" page facing title rading 'Licensed, May 24, 1693' is pasted to the end paper, not part of gathering A and is not referenced in Bronner & Fraser's collation; [12] 136 pages; 467 entries, one more than in the first edition.

Limited edition of 650 copies; Large folio, 16" x 12"; 189 Pages and 180 plates of which most are in colour. Plates were printed from blocks made by John Swain and Son. The Aries Roman and Italic types were designed specially for this book by Eric Gill and the Chinese title and dedication by Professor Ma Heng. The watermark and the endpapers have been designed based on the decoration of "Celestial Rams" shown in plate XCIX. The binding in blue Chinese silk.

Signed by Derek Taylor and George Harrison. Limited to 2000 numbered copies. Publisher's original dark brown half leather, with five raised bands and gilt title and decorations to the spine, a gilt ship illustration to the upper board, and a gilt reproduction of Taylor's signature to the lower board. All page edges gilt and with bound in marking ribbon and buckram slipcase. Illustrated with photographs and facsimiles of personal documents and memorabilia.

New York: J.W. Bouton, 1877. First edition, First printing. Blavatsky referred to Isis Unveiled as "the first cautious attempt to let into the West a faint streak of Eastern esoteric Light." (Theosophist Oct. 1883) Gomes states further, "Isis was concerned with marshalling evidence for the existence of an underlying 'anciently universal religion' that had been the primitive source of the 'multitudinous religious faiths' of humanity." (p. 182). Leather fairly worn along edges and worn through at board corners; Seam open at end of volume one, rear board may have been loose and well repaired; Former owner name stamped on title pages and top page edges, this being Peter G. Hoffman, sometimes spiritual writer in the 1940's; Overall, nearly very good condition.
Bound in half-leather with top page edges gilt; 9.75" x 6.75"; Vol. I: [iv], vi-xlv, 628, Vol. II: [iii], iv, 692 pages with two fold-out charts plus 24 pages of J.W. Bouton's Catalogue; Gomes 616; Gomes, Theosophy in the Nineteenth Century: An Annotated Bibliogrphy, states that, "When the book was issued at the end of Sept. 1877, the edition of a thousand copies sold out in ten days and a second printing was required before the end of he year." Further he states that (p. 185), "The second edition of 1877 and all subsequent editions (actually reprints) had an additional unnumbered five pages of Table of Contents added to Vols. 1 and 2." This set does not have the Table of Contents.
