The first Bouchercon took place in 1970 in Santa Monica, California. Subsequent Bouchercons have been held in many cities across the United States, as well as in Toronto and the UK.

There is also an opportunity to buy a lot of great books from the on site Book Store. A live and silent auction occurs where you have the ability to bid on special auction items from authors who have donated items to the auction. This year the money raised will be going to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
