Grand Central Terminal is a New York icon and one of the most famous train stations in the world. The monumental railway station was constructed in 1903-1913 for the New York and Harlem Railroad company. It is a grand Beaux-Arts building which serves as a transportation hub connecting train, metro, car and pedestrian traffic. It has sixty-seven train tracks on two different levels. Tourists flock to the station to see its spectacular architecture and locals come for the sixty shops and thirty-five restaurants. Grand Central is a destination in its own right.
Once the main waiting room in Grand Central Terminal, Vanderbilt Hall provides a spectacular setting for both public and private events. Vanderbilt Hall is located adjacent to the Main Concourse from 42nd Street. More than two hundred thousand people pass through the concourse each day, making it perfect for public events.
