  • Gabriel Garcia Marquez/One Hundred Years of Solitude First UK Edition! Signed! Scarce!

Gabriel Garcia Marquez/One Hundred Years of Solitude First UK Edition! Signed! Scarce! PRICE $10900.00 PURCHASE / MORE INFO View Member Profile First UK Edition/First Printing with no mention of subsequent printings and the correct statement on the copyright page; A Fine book in a Near Fine dust jacket. SIGNED by the author on the dedication page. Housed in a gorgeous custom clamshell box. A beautiful copy of this first UK edition of the classic novel; although not the true first (this book first published in 1967 in Argentina), this edition is quite scarce in the marketplace, much less commonly found then the first US edition; in addition, this book is quite rare in this condition, particularly signed. This novel is often cited as one of the supreme achievements in literature, having been translated into 46 languages and selling more than 50 million copies worldwide. This copy is in fine condition with a square, tight binding, bright gold lettering over clean green boards, and a bright burgundy top stain over clean white pages; only some very mild rubbing and sunning to the board edges keep this copy from pristine. Housed in a vibrant, clean, and crisp nearly fine dust jacket that shows only some light rubbing to the spine ends, edges, and corners, and a couple of very short closed tears, one to the top of the front panel near the spine head and one to the top of the back panel, else fine. Overall, a one of a kind item that would be the prize book in any modern literature collection; a bucket list book. Not remaindered, not price clipped (35s net intact), not ex-library; will ship very carefully wrapped in a sturdy box. One Hundred Years of Solitude tells the story of the rise and fall, birth and death of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendia family. Inventive, amusing, magnetic, sad, alive with unforgettable men and women, and with a truth and understanding that strike the soul, "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is a masterpiece of the art of fiction. Continue VISIT WEBSITE True Oak Books OWNER: Ari Bayvertyan Member since: 2024 Independent, online bookstore based in the beautiful Hudson Valley, New York. Each one of our items, mostly general non-fiction, has been curated by our small but passionate team, with joy and enthusiasm. (only displayed to logged-in members) MEMBER-TO-MEMBER DISCOUNT: % COUPON CODE (if applicable): ari@trueoakbooks.com 9175445627 574 New Paltz Rd, Highland, NY, 12528, United States More about this bookseller My name is Ari Bayvertyan. I am originally from Istanbul, Turkey. I reside in Highland, NY (2 hrs North of NYC) and run True Oak Books with my wife, Katrina Schneider. We have over 20,000 titles in stock and are growing every day. Our stock mostly consists of general non-fiction. We run a jewelry selling business on Etsy called Sansara Jewelry. The jewelry store is chiefly run by my wife, whereas I run the bookstore. Our small team consists of myself, Katrina, a full-time employee, and a part-timer. We also partner with independent scouts in the general North East area who provide us with extra inventory. We hope to keep hiring and grow the business to 100,000+ listings without losing our commitment to buyer satisfaction. Finally, I will be partnering with the folks at BookTrakker software in the near future, and I will be responsible of support and marketing. I've been a user for years, and it is simply the best! Looking forward to help making it even better. When I am not working, I am either playing guitar and singing with my band Fate Envoy, meditating, or training in my favorite martial art, Kalaripayattu. My wife and business partner Katrina is a darn good visual artist! 1/1 1/1 1/1 1/1 Featured Items Terms of Sale Returns and Refunds If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, we will accept a return within fifteen (15) days after an item is delivered. As long as you initiate the return within that time by handing it to the post office, you will be refunded in full as long as the item reaches us in the condition it was sold in. Please note that we reserve the right to withhold the return shipping cost from your refund on discretionary returns (i.e. for reasons like "bought by mistake", "no longer needed," or "changed my mind".) Otherwise, if you are unhappy with the condition of the book, or find that we did not describe an item correctly, we will pay for return shipping. If you wish to initiate a return, please email ari@trueoakbooks.com , and we will provide you with a shipping label. We answer most emails within 24 hours, and any email within 1 business day. Please consider paying for a higher class shipping service (priority or express) if there is urgency in your purchase. In the event that the item is lost in shipping, you will be refunded in full as long as the tracking shows that the item is lost or stuck in transit. Please be patient, however, as most items show up within a week after being supposedly lost. Shipping and Handling Most orders ship on the same or next business day. We do, however, reserve the right to ship within three (3) business days if necessary to account for various delays. Expedited and international shipping cost may exceed the advertised rate for heavy books or sets. In such a situation, we will contact you for additional charges, and you may reject the transaction and get a full refund if you are unhappy with the quote (or opt for standard shipping, if applicable).
